Not where but how.
過去の作品はどれも素晴らしく、画質ひとつとっても、僕の手元の機材では実現できそうになく、そもそも撮りに行く時間すらも無くて、８月１５日にこのコンペを知ってから、盆休みの期間中に限って、すでに手元にある機材と写真、動画とで作ってみたものです。とある映像コーディネーターが、お得意様から催促されて、ロケ地の候補地と、撮影のためのベースキャンプを置くべき場所とを提案するといった筋書きで、僕にとって印象的な、ここで撮ったら面白かろうと思う北海道内のいくつかの場所を、説明無しで並べた動画です。画質の悪さ、一部スペル間違いもあいますが、ありのままの素人の能力ということで、調整、訂正せずに応募しています。

Mito-hama (Mito-beach)
This video shows Mito-hama(MIto beach) in Miura, Kanagawa. There are beautiful sea, nature and birds in this beach. You can feel Japanese countryside if you come to this town. In a sunny day, you can see Mt.Fuji over the sea and good sunset. You will forget things that you are concerning if you see the sea and hear the sound of the waves and birds.

Japan Is
A collection of shots from my recent trip to Japan. We spent one week there, four days in Tokyo and two in Osaka. As first time visitors we went to as many restaurants and tourist spots as we could to get a feel for it. I only had one day togo through all the footage and edit this after we got back to the states.

振り返れば○○がいる
自然な鍾乳石が神秘的な映像を映し出してくれる「宇津野洞窟」 透明感のあるキレイな水と、ゆったり流れる空気感が素敵な「出流原弁天池」をメインに撮影しました。 ”振り返れば〜”、佐野のブランドキャラクター「さのまる」が色々な場所におり、 町をアピールしてくれています。 あざとかわいい！さのまるにロケ地巡りをしてもらいました。 昔ながらの日本風景も残りつつ、都市的な部分もある佐野を、 ロケ地としてPRしたく、何か気になる！と目に留めていただけるような動画制作に取り組みました。 動画最後の方に文章が入っている「Urban Area&Nature」「Come to Sano」は、 ドラマ「振り返れば奴がいる」の主題歌、「YAH YAH YAH」のCHAGE&ASKAさん風の表現をしたく…このようにしてみました。

仙北市の日常 / Ordinary life in Semboku city
仙北市。ここには代々受け継がれてきた祭り（ハレ）やこれからも続くであろう生活（ケ）の境目がはっきりと残っている。 縄文時代から人が住んでいた形跡がある田沢湖町や、武士が暮らしていた角館町、どこか懐かしい田園風景が広がる西木町。この3つの特色がある町のおかげで同じ市内と言えどもまったく違う景色を楽しめる。 この作品はそんな特色がある仙北市のコントラストを映し出したものである。 Semboku City. Here, the boundary between the festivals (hare) passed down through generations and the everyday life (ke) that will continue into the future is clearly marked. Tazawako Town, with its traces of human habitation dating back to the Jomon period, Kakunodate Town, where samurai once lived, and Nishiki Town, with its nostalgic rural landscapes—thanks to these three distinctive areas, even within the same city, one can enjoy completely different scenery. This short film reflects the contrast inherent in Semboku City's unique characteristics.

東洋のアルカディア 山形県置賜地方
山形県置賜地方のロケーション紹介映像。 この地は明治時代に日本全国を旅したイギリス人女性旅行家イザベラ・バードが 「東洋のアルカディア（桃源郷）である」と自身の著書『日本奥地紀行』で記した場所です。 この映像は2018年から「やまがたアルカディア観光局」からの依頼を受けて イザベラ・バードが記した「東洋のアルカディア」とは何だったのかを求め 地域内をフィールドワークしながら、文化や人、景色を一つ一つ採集し記録した映像です。 春夏秋冬、その地域に住まう方のお話を聞いて、あるいは自分たちの足で カメラを片手に「東洋のアルカディア」を感じるような景色を探し続けて来ました。 今もなお、撮影を続けている進行中のプロジェクトです。 そうして時間をかけて探し続けている間に、 地域の方でもまだ知らないような素晴らしいロケーションを数多く発見してきました。 この映像では、山の恵みの多いこの地域で、毎年春が訪れる前に、 山の事故などなく山の幸にあずかれますように、という願いでご祈祷している住職の様子や 五穀豊穣、家内安全などを祈願し舞う黒獅子の勇猛な様子、 また、お正月に行われるヤハハエロという、 神を迎え、悪運を払い、この一年の五穀豊穣、無病息災、子孫繁栄を祈願する 行事などを紹介しております。 この90秒の紹介映像には収まりきらなかったロケーション映像も 本当に沢山ある魅力が溢れる地域です。 撮影に訪れる度に、この風景だったらどんな物語を撮れるだろうかなど、 自然とアイディアが湧き上がるこの土地を是非ご紹介したく、応募させて頂きました。

熊本県は熊本市東区に位置する、英国アンティーク家具ショップ「JOHN BULL Antiques」は、1988年の創業以来、「年月を経たものを大切に扱う」というヨーロッパの考えをベースにしながら、現代的美しさを加味し、熊本で新たな価値を生み出し続けています。フィルムの主人公である寺本容子は、創業者である亡き夫の意志を引き継ぎ、時間と空間を飛び越える創造に取り組んでいます。このストーリーは、寺本容子が、 様々なまちの人々を巻き込むことで、家具ショップの枠を打ち破っていく――たとえば、店内にコワーキングスペースを開設したり、敷地内で「スウィンギング・ロンドン」とも称される60年代後半の熱狂を再現したジャズイベントを開催したり――群像劇へと発展していきます。

冬は上質なパウダースノーが舞い降り、一面銀世界となる北海道ニセコHANAZONOリゾート。夏は景色が一変し、緑の森と清流に囲まれた美しい山岳リゾートです。日が沈むにつれ、夏のスキー場には約21万個の光の粒からなる全長1.3kmの大規模な光のアートインスタレーション「Mountain Lights (マウンテンライツ)」が出現。ニセコの自然に溶け込みながら、爽やかな山の風を受けHANAZONOの大地を優しく包み込むさまは圧巻です。 期間限定で北海道の先住民族であるアイヌの人々による伝統舞踊や演奏が行われ、マウンテンライツの光、伝統舞踊の炎、花火や満天の星など、あらゆる「光」の輝きに包まれる唯一無二のひと時をご体感いただけます。ぜひこの素晴らしい空間を多くの方に知っていただきたく応募いたします。 制作を手掛けるのは世界的に著名なイギリス人アーティスト、ブルース・マンロー氏で、彼の作品展示が見られるのは日本ではニセコだけです。2024年の営業期間は10月6日まで、2025年は7月1日営業開始予定。mountain-lights.com

Yamaguchi City was placed third on the The New York Times' list of “52 Places to Go in 2024.” The article features iconic landmarks such as the National Treasure Rurikoji Temple Five Story Pagoda (found in Kozan Park), pottery studios, charming coffee shops, and counter-only shops serving classic dishes like oden and hot pot. The write-up also highlights the hot spring district of Yuda Onsen and the Yamaguchi Gion Festival, a nearly 600 year old tradition celebrated every July.

桜満開 山口市の一の坂川
旧市街地を北から南に縦断して流れる川幅７～８メートルほどの川沿いにあり、町屋風の民家が軒を連ねている。 室町時代の領主・大内氏が、京都を模倣して「西の京」の町づくりをする際、鴨川に見立てたとされる。 春の桜に続き、５月下旬にはゲンジボタルの乱舞が見られ、四季を通じ絵になるポイント。 室町時代、京を模して作られた山口の街の中で、一の坂川は京都の鴨川に見たてられました。 春には桜が咲き、夜間にはライトアップして夜桜観賞が楽しめます。初夏には国指定である天然記念物のゲンジボタルの乱舞を見ることができ、毎年5月末～6月初旬にかけて「ほたる観賞ウィーク」が開催されます。 川沿いにはカフェや食事処もあり、散策途中に立ち寄れば、川のせせらぎを眺めながらゆっくりとした時間を過ごす事が出来ます。

Pray from the scars of war
ロケ地として選んだのは、大分県佐伯市にある鶴御崎自然公園展望ブリッジという場所です。 ３６０度見渡せる展望台からの絶景はとても素晴らしいのですが、九州最東端にあたる鶴見半島の先端付近（市街地からだいぶ離れている）にあることと、駐車場から山道を１０分から１５分程度のぼらなければならないということもあって、訪れる方は多くありません。 また、この場所は太平洋戦争時に使用された砲台や防空壕の跡が所々に残っています。 太平洋戦争から約８０年が経ち、実際にその戦争を経験した方々が高齢になり、少なくなってきている今、今一度戦争の愚かさを思い出すべきではないかと思い、この作品を制作させて頂きました。 世界中に平和への祈りが届くように、願いをこめて。

Not where but how.
この企画のお陰で、ロケに使えそうな場所がいっぱいあることを、改めて認識しました。しかし映像を作る時間は盆休みしかなく、この企画を知ったのが１５日なので、今回は大つかみに場所を提案するにとどめて、この際、撮る側にとって自治体などに一番知っておいてもらいたい、１つの問題にフォーカスすることとしました。この問題がクリアされれば、どこでもロケ地になり、またどこでもロケ地になる素質を、日本は持っているんです。お恥ずかしながら、まともな機材がないので、荒れた映像になっております。撮影はスマホ、編集もパソコン付属のアクセサリ程度のものしか使えておりません。素人がスマホで応募も可能ということでしたので、投稿させていただきます。

八雲の喜怒哀楽
北海道の八雲町は日本海と太平洋に面する、天気の不安定な街です。私は今キャリアに悩んでいて気分が天気のように変わります。一貫性が求められる現代で、そんな自分が好きではありませんでした。だけど、八雲町に訪れて、八雲町で生活するうちに自分のコロコロ変わる部分も少し受け入れられるようになりました。天気が不安定な八雲町は、なんだか自分のように思えました。八雲町は曇りの日がとても多い場所で、曇りが嫌だという人もいるけれど、耳を傾けると沢山の鳥が鳴いていたり、道端には瑞々しい花々が咲き誇ります。この動画を通して、そんな色々な面をもった八雲町を知ることを通して、「自分を知る」ということを知ってほしいです。 また、この八雲町で私はカナダから来た同い年の子に出逢いました。私と性格も間反対な彼女との出会いは、私に大きな気づきをくれました。そんな彼女と出逢った思い出の場所でもあります。 八雲町の喜怒哀楽のような天気を通して、自分の色とりどりな感情や思いを楽しんでください。

Hana,the last diviner
Kyoto, particularly the northern part known as Kyotango City, boasts numerous captivating filming locations where the ancient settlers arrived. It is in these areas, away from the central Kyoto, where one can truly experience places imbued with Japan's traditional cultural essence. I filmed the history of an Onmyoji, a unique Japanese astrologer, from the late Edo period in Kyotango City, an area often referred to as "Sea Kyoto." The footage vividly captures its charm. It is a story of the growth of a woman set against the backdrop of Kyoto.
